Under 17's

Round 1 - Glenelg 5 def Goodwood 3

Round 2 - Glenelg 9 lost to Port Adelaide 10

We were a little under powered with Flynn not pitching and Henry unavailable, but we still had ever chance to win, jumping out to a 5 run lead in the first inning.

Our fielding in the past 2 games is terrible and we just give the opposition opportunities to beat us. Really do need to get better!

The only thing I though was ok was our base running, this kept us in the game .

The answer is keep working hard

Round 3 - Glenelg 9 def Kensington 5

We played much better, Rion started and Harry closed confidently. We left many runners on base and  need to get better at converting then into runs.

Fielding, still a few mistakes but will keep working on it. There was a couple of standout times at bat Blake and Darcy come to mind but I felt Henry total game was outstanding with 2 walks a double and an excellent catch well done.

Adam had a good game behind the dish.

Team starting to come together just keep working hard

Round 4 - Glenelg 15 def Woodville 0

Flynn Started pitching and just blow them away with fast balls he only threw about 65 pitchers excellent effort well done

Our fielding still not great so work to done there.

There was some really good times at bat. Cooper and Harry took Woodville pitcher all the way, they then became baserunners setting bases up for the top of the line-up. Blake’s single mid game gave us the start we need to dominate the game.

Henry again hit and ran the bases brilliantly he is having a good season well done

Under 15 - Glenelg 7 lost to West Torrens 8

We played West Torrens and got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st thanks to Max Stagg driving in our first run with a single to left. The bottom of the 1st started well with Max recording 2 quick outs, but this was followed by 2 walks, a hit pitch ball and 3 run double. Ryan Wurfel had a good day at the plate with a pair of doubles driving in a few runs. Archie Lovelock relieved on the bump for us and fought quite well, he just needs to find a balance between his best and his not best to make the hitters earn it a bit better. Will Holt knocked in a run with a single to right and Will McAuliffe picked up a couple of singles at the top of the line-up. The Eagles were that touch sharper than us and even managed to sneak a run on a very cheeky and unseen play ever in senior baseball, the steal home off the catcher. Our guys have shown sharp improvement week by week and we will continue to work hard during at training and get better with every start.

Under 13/1's - Glenelg 21 def West Torrens 4

This week the U13/1 team played WT and had a convincing 21-4 win.

Georgia Davis started on the hill for us and was outstanding throwing 3 innings for 0 runs and 7ks.

Luke Beckham and Conor Gluyas both came on in relief and pitched well also.

Most players recorded multiple hits today in a dominant display.

Charlie McAuliffe led the way with 4 hits, Luke Beckham, Georgia Davis, Charlie Huttunen, Lucas Kelly and Jet Robinson all picked up 3 a piece.

Under 13/2's - Glenelg 14 def Southern Districts 10

We travelled down South to play Southern Districts. We are a side with everyone playing there first u13 season, and out of that we would have 1/2 the side new to the club and game. We started off well with 2 runs in the first. Nik pitched 2 outstanding innings and with great Fielding by Callum saw after 2 the tigers in control. Kia and Angus both show promise as pitchers, Sam and Cyrus both caught well. With great hits from Driam, Harrison, and great patient at bats from Zack & Max our team is showing promise that we will give teams a good run for there money.

Under 11's - Glenelg 10 lost to Goodwood 16

The under 11 boys played Goodwood on Sunday and really have shown how quickly they are improving and learning the game.  All of these boys are in their first season of baseball but are starting to hit the ball hard and making plays in the field which is great to see.

We had more hits than our opposition (9) during the game (Lucas 3, Ben Schaefer 2, Kai 1, Ben Eyles 1, Noah 1 and Liam 1) but are still learning to swing at the right pitches.  Ben Smith, Ari and Kaylum showed their patience when batting drawing multiple walks.

In the field we are focusing on the basics with throwing strikes in the field. Liam, Alfie, Lucas and Ari did a great job and continue to get better each week.  Our first innings showed what we are capable of getting three quick outs.

Rhys made his debut this week and learnt the hardest way to get to first base by getting hit with a pitch.  It was great to see him tough it out and keep going.

Back to full force this week with Oli coming off the sick list.
