Division 1 - Glenelg 10 def Saints 7

A cracking contest as the young saints offense showed their development and patience at the plate.  Georgia Davis had a great all round game for the visitors throwing 3 innings and singling to left field on all three occasions.

Prokopec held the Saints to 3 runs over 2 innings of work before a quick hook due to back stiffness thrust Smith into action early and a rushed warm up made for a challenging first inning for her.  After settling in and loosening up Smith put up donuts over the final two innings to shut the door on the Saints.

Jenny Dunn set the table reaching on 3 of 4 occasions, scoring 3 times and driving in 2 runs, Dana Aldwin also reaching on all three occasions (scoring twice) and seeing a ton of pitches was huge in the outcome.  Prokopec 3-3 with 2 RBIs, along with Maslin & Smith driving in runs each whilst hitting the ball hard ensures navigating the middle of our lineup is no easy task.

The Saints put a strong performance together – the 10-7 final score indicative of the close contest all game.

Your Tigers are scheduled at home this Friday against Goodwood – 6pm.

Division 2 - Glenelg 12 def Southern Districts 6

It was a competitive game at the GBC, where the Tigers were able to take the win against Southern Districts 12-6.

Tigers starting pitcher, Wren was unlucky and injured in the first innings which saw Alex step up to the mound.

South’s started the game with a couple of runs on the board and were defensive in the field.

The Tigers kept their heads high and the pressure on. We were aggressive both in the batting box and on base which was fantastic to see.

There were some solid hits from the team and only a couple strikeouts. An all-round great game of baseball!

Division 3 - Glenelg 8 lost to Henley & Grange 14

Things certainly didn’t go our way last Friday against the 2nd placed Henley & Grange.

Arm injuries to our two main pitchers, Jacqui Dunn & Bec Saville, left us severely weakened & unable to restrict the opposition from scoring.

To the team’s credit they fought really hard before going down 14-8.

All of our hitters found a way to reach base during the game but for the most part we couldn’t get enough hits with runners in scoring positions.

Our players will be tested over the next 2 games & different players will be asked to perform roles that they have yet to experience.  I am confident that we have the character to overcome the situation & nail down a finals position.
