Under 15's - Glenelg 3 lost to Kensington 11

Another mid-week game for the Tigers, this time at Kensington on their turf.

In what was overall a disappointing performance, we did manage a couple of runs across the plate despite only 4 hits collectively.

Henry made his pitching debut for the season and started us off for the first inning and although they scored four runs, he struck out three.

Ollie relieved for the second and third innings and collected five k’s of his own, with five more runs from four hits scoring.

Wren closed us out in the last defensive innings, striking out one and Kensington scored their final two runs of the game.

In a hard day at the office defensively across the entire team, the three pitchers battled through 36 batters between them and unfortunately walks got the better of us today.

Offensively we only scored the three runs to our four hits from Kai, Charlie, Callum and Cyrus.

From here we reset our focus and looked to play Gawler in the next round.

Under 15's - Glenelg 8 def Gawler 2

A better team mindset and performance this weekend assisted us to defeat Gawler 8-2 after drawing with them earlier in the season

Callum dominated on the mound, allowing just one run and one hit against him in his 4.1innings. Callum decimated the opposition, striking out nine of the 19 batters he faced.

Kai closed out the game pitching 1.2 innings, striking out one, two hits against and one run scoring.

A fantastic effort from both pitchers, backed up with some solid defensive work in the field from Wren, Ollie and Sam.

The core of the game was born of consistent offence, with 9 hits collectively.

Charlie, Wren and Sam all collected hits, with Cyrus hitting a double, Callum hitting two huge doubles through the cones and Henry hitting three singles.

Backed up with six walks, considerably more damage could have been done with 9 runners left on base.

It was great to see the crew mentally complete u-turn this weekend after the loss on Wednesday.

This week we take on the Redsox at home, while the 14s will be putting on a “Show” on diamond one.

Under 13/1's - Glenelg 9 drew with Henley & Grange 9

Under 13/2's - Henley Tigers 4 def Dodgers 3

Under 11's- Glenelg 12 def Goodwood 7

The U11’s are on a roll after adding another W. The team played at Goodwood Baseball Club and despite the wet grass and light sprinkle of rain, the kids were ready to get stuck into it.

It was a slow start to the game with 7 walks which resulted in us scoring the maximum 4 runs. Zac MacLean started for us again and dominated in his 2 innings for 28 pitches, keeping Goodwood off the scoreboard.

The 3rd inning provided the crowd with the goods as our team fired up the bats. Beau Martinella walked, Lincoln Harris singled and Mason drove them both in with a spectacular double to right field. The Goodwood pitcher took matters into his own hands with 2 sliding catches but that wasn’t enough to keeps us quiet. Owen McHugh drove in Mason with a single to 2nd base and Ethan walked to score us the 4th run.

Jimmy Newbold came in relief with a mixed bag – 3 runs, 3 walks, 2 hits and 3 strikeouts. Goodwood struggled to get the ball over the plate which allowed us to score another 4 runs off 7 walks. This put us up 12-3 going into the bottom of the final inning.

With the result already decided we gave the Noah Stephen the opportunity to make his pitching debut, followed by Seb Charlick who came in to finish off the inning.

All in all a good game with a 12-7 victory!
