Under 11's - Glenelg 9 def Woodville 5

The under 11s travelled to Don Klaebe Reserve to take on the Senators from Woodville on a perfect Sunday morning.  The team were excited to play on the main diamond and there was much discussion about the dugout, bat rack, some seriously tall Senators and a mini Dusty Martin on the opposition team before we got the game started.

The Tigers got off to a good start with three quick runs off walks to Owen and Seth and hits to Reuben, Louis and Zac.  Ari started pitching for the Tigers and a customary no balls, two-strike HPB saw no one keen to step on the dirt for three quick strike-outs to end the first.

The Tigers kept swinging the bats and outfield hits to Ari, Owen and Mason as well as walks to Reuben, Louis, Seth and Opal had the team back in the field after scoring the maximum four runs.  Ari started the second with another strike-out before Marcus got the pill to finish the bottom of the second with a great pitching performance.  A strike-out and an out at second base had the Tigers up 7-1 going into the third.

Patience in the batting box and limited opportunities saw the Tigers score two more runs off a great piece to centre field by Seth before Marcus and Reuben shared pitching duties to close out the game.

The final score of 9-5 gave the Tigers their third win of the season but more importantly a good chance to show how much each player has grown throughout the season.
