Glenelg Defeated Adelaide 6 - 4

There is no doubt it is finals time! Sunday was a nice morning and the U!3 Fans at the game were treated to a ripper.

Adelaide bounced out of the blocks and scored 2 runs courtesy of some good hitting. We replied with 2 after Kai’s drive up the middle and a long first inning with a few DRS challenges suggested that the game would go down to the wire.

We scored in the second and fourth inning to go ahead 4 - 2 and with Josh pitching well and well supported in the field we looked to be in control of the game. Adelaide struck back in the fifth after Conor took some settling in after taking the ball from Josh, scoring one and nearly scoring two with a runner being called out at the plate.

Holding one run and only needing 3 outs to win we prepared to close the game out but Adelaide had other ideas when the lead off hitter "went yard” and tied the game at 4 with a Homer. At this point our pitching became fierce and roars and a few Llayton Hewitt like “Come ons" signalled the retired Angels and quickly we were hitting needing one to win the game.

Luke singled up the middle with a well hit ground ball that proved a little tricky for the Angel centre fielder resulting in a double. Noah picked a walk. Ryan sacrificed to move the Tigers a base closer. And with one out Archie collected his fourth hit for the day knocking one to left field, scoring 2 and walking off the Angels.

All the boys made a contribution to the outcome of this weeks game. Good at bats, strong and positive chatter in the field and a collective attitude more competitive than Virat Kohli’s served us well.

We now move to a Home preliminary final against Sturt. This is a great opportunity and a true team effort will give us our best chance against a tough Saints side.

Go Tigers!

Glenelg lost to East Torrens 7-3

In what was our last game of the year, we took on the best from the nth East torrens. We just had one of those games where we swing at the wrong pitches, and getting caught out on lucky catches, it just wasn't going to be our day. But we kept on fighting to the last out and lost 7/3. In what was a great year for us where we went undefeated in the south, in showed us on any day any team can win and lose. But can not be any more proud of the team as they always put in 100%. Best players in no order Georgia, Charlie,Nik,Sam,Ren,Gus,Zack,Angus,Callum,Max,Seb, Oliver, Cyrus and Riley. I would also like to mention Brad,Matt,Brian, Marie and Kristian for all your help this year.. Good luck to all teams still in finals, and bring back some more sheilds to hang up..Go tigers
