Division 1 - Glenelg 12 def Sturt 3

After the past two match ups against this outfit were cancelled or postponed your Tigers were champing at the bit to face Sturt Friday night.

A solid 12-3 victory built off fantastic starting pitching from Smith and great defence collectively.  After Sturt came out swinging the bats aggressively and scoring 2 in the top of the first, Smith and Illburn kept them off balanced for the rest of the evening with a good pitch mix keeping the ball away from the middle of the bat against a still very potent offensive line up.  Harris continued her strong defensive form with six plays along with 4 fly outs – our improved outfield defence this year has had solid contribution to our pitching staff being able to aggressively challenge hitters.

We kept the red pen out of Bev’s hand until the final inning when a single unearned run crossed – a fantastic performance.

Offensively our patiently aggressive approach continued to deliver, seeing off the starters pitch count after two innings whilst pushing 6 runs across.  Sturts reliever came in and tied us up early before the ladies adjusted to push another 6 runs across by games end.  Harris & Dunn led the way with 3 hits apiece; Smith, Prokopec & Maslin reached regularly with 3 walks each to keep the pressure on their pitching.

Izzy Lilburn collected her first hit of the campaign – Izzy has been one of our toughest outs this season, making pitchers work hard and taking the walk and HPB when offered.  Congratulations kid.

Solid all round team display.  Time to back it up again when we face Woodville this Friday on the back diamond at West Beach.  Go Tigers.

Division 2 - Glenelg 11 lost to Golden Grove 20

After starting the season with a couple of solid wins, the girls come up against a red hot Golden Grove team.

First innings looked liked being a tight game with both teams scoring just the 2 runs and Maite looking to continue her impressive form on the hill.

After that the Dodgers bats exploded and we were never really able to reign them in. With back up pitcher Alex injured, we tried a few rookies on the hill who toiled away.

Best with bat was Fiona who hit well all night, whilst Nat (double), both Rebecca's, Alex and Maite all adding come green to the scorebook.

Division 3 - Glenelg 9 lost to West Torrens 15

Came up against a very strong Eagles line-up, battled away all night, but couldn't come away with the chocolates.
