The u15 team has started the season with a couple of losses to West Torrens and H&G.
We are a team that sits between the grades at the moment. The more experienced and mature opposition players will have our measure for a while but with a bit of time and commitment we will begin to turn the tide and enjoy some competitive baseball.
Round one had us well placed going into the final inning but WT opened up the game with some good hitting. Conor and Cal pitched well and Cyrus and Darrian worked well in the field. Wren made a good play at second base and Blake shagged a good outfield catch.
Round two we were outclassed. We mixed the team around a bit searching for some good experiences but despite some good pitching by Cal and Charlie the H&G bats were alive. Ollie and Wren made some plays at third base and shortstop and we did mop up well in the outfield. Darrian provided an offensive highlight with a double to centre.
We are looking forward to a good week on the track and Thursdays Tiger Night after practice.

Round 1. Loss 14-3 v Kensington. It wasn't the start to the season we hoped for. A trip up the hill to face the cardinals. We played 6 innings and gave up runs in all innings. I think we played quite well considering our mass of first year players for the age group coming up against a team with majority 2nd year players and 5 of the starting 9 in a charter team. Although the result wasn't in our favour one was happy with the way we played. We got 3 outs every inning and scored some late runs. Was good to see where we are against a quality opposition.
Round 2 v H and G. 15-10 win. A great all round team effort secured our first victory of the season. Everybody chipped in along the way and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to my assistant coach Alice and mentor Mason for all their help. We will keep improving as the season rolls on and am looking forward to seeing the team gel and play some great baseball
