Under 15's - Glenelg 2 lost to Adelaide 5

The U15 Tigers came up against Adelaide Sunday and although recording another loss we delivered a greatly improved performance.

Our game took a turn for the better with some solid infield plays by Cal and Ollie on the left side, and some good glove work at first base by Charlie and Cal. Our defensive highlight was a 1-3-2 double play that got us out of the first inning, Conor to Charlie to Darrian, A great play,

Our bats are also waking up with Sam, Henry and Darrian finding the middle of the stick with Darrian going close to a 4 stroker.

We will continue to work on our physical skills and talk about the mental side of the game.

Under 13's - Glenelg BYE

Under 11's - Glenelg 5 lost to Henley & Grange 9

We welcomed our new player Seth this week as the Tiger’s took on the under 11s from Henley and Grange.  Zac got the start on the mound and did the job with three strike outs with the Rams only scoring 1 run.  GBC got one back after a walk to Marcus and safe hits to Zac, Ari and Reuben to end the first.

Zac continued to do well in the top of the second, backed up by Ari, getting the team back into bat.  Opal secured a walk and Mason got a hit but a good catch to the Ram’s short stop on Ari’s drive put us back into the field to begin the third.

Ari and Louis pitched the third inning but struggled to find the strike zone as the Ram’s scored four before we got back into bat with the scores at 5-1.  Seth, Owen and Lincoln swung at the right pitches and Zac and Reuben both got their second hits of the game but we couldn’t get any more runs to end the third inning.

Opal and Reuben had their first pitches of the year in the top of the fourth which was great for our team before we got back into our final bat of the game with the scores at 9-1.  Just like last week the team kept at it with Opal, Marcus, Seth, Owen and Reuben earning walks and Mason and Ari getting a hit scoring the maximum 4 runs ending the game with the scores at 9-5.

A special mention to Dylan and Lincoln who have been out with the under 11s as under 9s for the first few weeks of the year before their season starts this week.
