Under 17 - Glenelg 10 def Sturt 2

Rion started as Flynn was spelled so he could help Div 2, Rion pitched the whole game and got better as game went on, a real good outing .

We started a bit rusty in the field, maybe because it was our first game back from the xmas break, anyway will back on track asap

We hit the ball very well Adam got the party started with a line shot through first base and then Flynn a double to right, Henry again solid, Odin a triple and Harry pinched hit late in the game for a single. Overall all had good times. Lavo starting to get his confidence up had a good couple of weeks.

Blake strained his leg,  he also played well with some  excellent base running, good to have him back

Please keep it up

Under 15 - BYE

Under 13/1 - Glenelg 9 def Kensington 1

Under 13/2 - Glenelg 0 lost to Henley & Grange 12

Under 11 - Glenelg 8 def Goodwood Chiefs 4

The under 11 team made a great start to 2018 with a win against the Goodwood Chiefs on the weekend.

It was clear from our warm up the boys were switched on and ready to play.  With our first baseman and centre field taking a ball out to warm up and one of the boys on the bench going out to throw with right field, it was a sign of how much they have learned and put into practice in such a short time.

The first innings saw Liam take the new ball to the mound and with three strike outs to put us quickly into bat.  A good first picher for Goodwood ensured we had a game on our hands.  A good at bat from Noah gave us a base runner but we couldn't get more than that before we took the field again.

The second inning saw Goodwood get a hit and a few runners on base, scoring three runs before Kai came in to pitch to strike out the last two outs.  Our second innings at bat saw Rhys and Lucas both hit the ball into play but were unlucky to get on base.  Like the first inning, Ari showed some patience in the batting box to draw a walk before our last out saw us back in the field.

Kai continued to pitch well in the top of the third before Lucas took over on the mound with the Chiefs only able to score 1.  The boys kept focus and with a change of pitcher got going with hits to Kai, Noah and Ollie and walks to Ben E, Liam, Blake, Lucas and Ari.  Scoring the maximum 5 runs we went into the fourth inning full of confidence and a narrow lead.

The fourth inning saw Lucas continue our great  pitching for the day with three quick strikeouts putting us back into bat.  The boys picked up where they left off in the bottom of the fourth, batting out the time remaining with some big hits to Kaylum, Ben S, Noah and Blake and a timely walk to Ben E seeing the Tigers put the game out of reach with a 8-4 win.

The win was a good reward for all their hard work throughout the season and even better than the win was seeing the boys have fun, supporting each other and look like a baseball team.
