Harry started on the hill and was respectable it was  only his second game back pitching ,so a bit to do their, Darcy came in as fire man and Lavo closed a  positive was that we were able  to give our juniors some valuable pitching time. Not much to say positive after that defensively again far too many errors we basically present Goodwood with the win, there couldn’t  believe it themselves, I forgot one other positive, it was good for bar taking, Goodwood were so happy they stayed and had plenty to drink

Alan hit well again

We are out of the race now so just working on building juniors confidence for the future

Division 5 - Glenelg 7 lost to Henley & Grange 11

Division 5 - Tigers 10 def West Torrens 6

Not a great game as a spectacle, as Broken coach Maddog and not so 3 votes scrambled onto the field to give us 9 starters, we broke from tradition and scored a 6 spot in the first innings.

After the initial influx of runs the game meandered to the final result.

Both pitchers Sanga & 0.3 votes held he Eagles bats in check. Bayles tried to mark one at left instead of catch it, to stuff his thumb up.

Best for the good guys was Squid lips with 3 hits. Others to get amongst the hits were, Brother (2) Lenny (2) Jucha (2) Sanga (2) Bradey, Pottsy & Meady all (1)

Division 4 - Glenelg 7 def East Torrens 1

Finally after what seemed like forever after a heat out followed by a bye, the Al Gores could once again take the field, albeit a little skinny on numbers with Kymbo Slice on wedding singer duties and The Colonel laid up with a nasty case of swamp fever.

Facing the undefeated Scarlett Sox – a team that boasts a ton of ex- A grade talent – the Tiger brains trust decided to give the big ET bats a full dose of sloooooow stuff, in an attempt to put the big swinging visitors off balance.

Coach Boris yelled “unleash the Krajen” and the big fella proceeded to send a bunch of pills from the hill towards the unsuspecting hitters at speeds varying between 20 and 21 km/h. The big fella got through one unscathed to give the good guys a chance to take the lead. V-dub reached on error before hits to Freezer, the Krajen, Killer, Steak and Patty-G around a sac bunt to the Fenomenon saw the Tiges bust out to an early 4-0 lead.

The Krajen continued to fling his magic beans in the second, and with the help of a Patty-G unassisted double play held the Sox once again. After coming up empty in the second, the Tiges added a 5th with a seeing-eye bleeder to Boris after walks to Killer and Patty-G .

The Krajen continued to stifle the ET bats with plenty of help from the usually dormant left side of the field, with the Fenomenon raking in six grabs amongst the action.

The good guys racked up another three in the 4th with hits to the Krajen and Killer setting the table for a sizzling Steak triple that had this one all but done. A late run to the Sox saw the final score a 7-1 win to the Al Gores in one of our best team performances for the season, with every player contributing to a very satisfying result.

Big ups to Corey “Hardcore” Williams who helped us out and ran the bases like Rickey Henderson all day.

On to the reservation next week as we attempt to shore up an all-important top two finish.

Division 3 - Glenelg 8 def East Torrens 4

The Big Dawg takes his talents out West.

With a few regular names out of our line-up we shuffled some bodies around, snaffled a young guy from the 2s, and rolled out 9 blokes to take on a quality opponent in ET at home. Tristan Stevens took the pill and negotiated his way around a couple of ground balls with eyes to post a first inning donut. Tom Huttunen made his debut in the 3s for us, nearly dropping our average age below 30 for the first time in years he slotted straight into the lead-off spot, replacing The Big Dawg Deeble who was off to cook up some world class ribs in WA. With a couple of walks and a string of hit to Qualmann, Kloeden and Corey Williams we jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

Stevo settled in and got through 4 innings of work without giving up a run, a nice midrange start for him. We went 1-2-3 in the 2nd, but after that we went on to score at least 1 run in each of the following 4 innings played. With runners on 1st and 2nd no outs in the 3rd Tom H dropped a great bunt to move them across and a double from Craig Handy moved the score along to 6-0.

Handy came on to throw the final couple of frames giving up a ground out RBI in his first inning of work. Things went a bit haywire in the top of the 7th with a couple of walks and misplayed balls followed by a 2 out single to right clawing the score back to 8-4.

Kloeds had a nice day out, recording more put outs playing 2B than our first basemen, and going 4 for with the bat included a solo johnson to welcome their new arm to the hill in the 5th, rounding the bases like Close the Deal circa 2002.

We have 2 games left to finish off the regular season and are beginning to see the improvement from all guys which we need to get us where we want to be.
