Under 17's - Glenelg 20 def Northern Districts 2

Whilst Northern have been struggling at the bottom of the table we had a good win that continued on top of our recent better and more consistent team performances.  Tony was away on "business" - so thanks to Bayles for stepping in and bringing his enthusiasm and experience - plus Paul also helped out as per usual.  We also had Darcy and Harry sidelined with injuries and Flynn being rested from the mound ready for the afternoons Div2 game.

Tony made the early call and nominated Riley to do his first pitching gig for Glenelg.  Riley grabbed the opportunity and performed very well.  Started well, had a bit of pressure on in the 2nd with bases filling up but pulled though this and then closed out the whole game -  so well done. We then backed this up with a good all round team performance with all players making some good contributions when batting and/or fielding.  Key highlights were Odin smacking a couple of big hits to left field plus some other power hitting from Adam, Flynn (inside the park homer) and Riley, plus a well executed 5 to 4 to 3 double play.

We still have a few things to clean up in the field so that we can tackle the top couple of sides - starting with a good challenge this coming week at home V Adelaide.

Under 15/1's - Glenelg 12 def Red Rangers 1

The bays chalk one up.

After a few good weeks against the top teams we hosted the Red Rangers, not the mighty morphin' variety, but rather the combination of Norths and Gawler at home on a perfect day for baseball.

Max Stagg took the pill and got thru a perfect first with 2 punch outs. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first ol' Tubs helped out his own cause with a 2 run double to center, Ryan Wurfel drove in our 3rd run and we left the bases loaded to end the dig 3-0. Max threw 5 innings, giving up just the one run after a hard hit lead off double set up the Red Rangers best shot to hit the scoreboard.

Josh Beckham lead off the bottom of the 3rd with with a single and was driven in by Mal Sommerville's single to right, Mal's first knock for the year and a great reward for the big fella. Archie Lovelock, Max and Charlie Disbury all had hits in this innings as we notched up our first 7 spot of the year. Charlie had his best day of the season with the bat, with a couple of hard hit singles and a walk.

Josh Beckham closed the door in the last and we had recorded our first W for the season. A great reward for a very good team game and the effort the guys are putting in each week.

Under 13/1's - Glenelg 19 def Gawler 1

Under 13/2's - East Torrens 8 def Glenelg 7

Sundays game was against ET we started off really well with Nic on the mound and with good hits from Kia , Oliver and Angus  we made our limit of 5 runs. It was a close game after that letting ET get infront and holding on for the win. We had some great Fielding with Harrison taking 3 catches, Sam and Cyrus improving as catchers. It was a learning experience for the young tigers as know they know they must be switched on for the whole game not just an innings.
