Glenelg defeated Woodville 10-2

Flynn started pitching and again excellent, he is having a fantastic year, I then went to Mouse to kept him on his toes for the coming week both well done

The end result wasn’t a go indication of the game Woodville much better than the score showed there were times in the game it could have gone either way ,again I was proud of the way we played and all players in good shape for the finals ,Adam and Blake up from the u15 came in for a pitch hit and crushed the ball ,Blake took a fantastic catch running in well done.

Joe ,Mouse and Corbin hit well and our defence was good looking forward to this week’s first final will be a cracker

Glenelg defeated Woodville 8-3

Our final regular season game was a 9am home game, in which we need a big result in to try and sneak into finals contention. After dusting of the cobwebs in the pregame we I flipped the ball to Max Stagg who struck em out 1-2-3 to start off the ball game perfectly.

Josh Ayles knocked a double into right and a couple of good AB’s from the middle order guys saw us score 3 in the first.

We surrendered a run in the 2nd, but a leadoff single from Blake Hall and a 2 out Double from Adam Wurfel kept the scoreboard ticking over. Staggy had easily his best performance on the mound and his improvement through the season has been great. Harry Leaker closed out the final two frames to preserve the win.

We ended up coming away with the W, but needed about 10 extra runs to creep into the top 6.

The improvement of all the guys throughout the course of the season was great to watch. Hopefully they enjoyed the season we had together and learnt a few extra things about the game along the way. Thanks to our supporters and scorers throughout the season and Lisa Wurfel for all her help in the team manager role. Corey Williams was a huge help, particularly on this day, but also through the course of the season.

I’m sure the guys who move up to the 17s next year will continue to get better and in a few years’ time we will have a brand new crop of young guns to push for A grade spots.

Best of luck to the other junior teams who head into finals action next week.

Glenelg defeated West Torrens 15 - 4

The Tigers took on the Eagles for the fourth time this year and made it a series sweep. We were a little shaky early, conceding 4 runs in the first - a couple of bloopers and a couple of errors gave away the initiative but we quickly rallied and the runs came 5,2,5 and,3 without reply. In the later innings our hitters were aware of a Team Australia scout scouting in centerfield and our good at bats gave way to Homer swings trying to impress. Both were unsuccessful!

A good game by Charlie McA has him playing well at the right time of the year and Con, Ryan and Luke pitched well.

Glenelg defeated Southern Districts 12 - 7

Our final minor round game for this season had a big carrot - win and we rank second with a good setup for the postseason.

Josh took the ball and sped through 3 innings retiring 9 hitters. 1 hit, 1 walk and in the second struck out three hitters on 9 pitches - a great effort! Ryan and Con worked the pen and our pitching has some good options looking forward.

Noah had some good at bats all day putting the Hawks fielders under pressure with his dash and Ryan had a day to remember with the bat going 'three for'. Harv, Josh and Archie went long and Luke proved hard to retire collecting 3 - Well done! Charlie D is getting the ball in play with some force and Kai, Con and Charlie McA are making some good at bats.

The finals are now here and our challenge is to win three more games - Angels, Saints & Rams. To do this we will need to play as a team and all fire together, we all have plenty to offer so look out - Here come the Tigers!

Adelaide first, Sunday 9am.

Glenelg defeated Southern Districts 12-2

Our game on Sunday went to plan as we took on sth DIST second side. Nik had outstanding game on the mound and at bat. As well there was great hitting from most of the side, Which is handy coming  into this week. Special mention goes to Ren, Gus, Cyrus, Callum,Zack, who over the last 3 weeks haven't got much Field time, but have kept on with outstanding team support. It's been a great season going undefeated in the southern league, and winning the division. Now comes the biggest game for the u/11 in years, as we take on the best from the nth (East torrens) Sunday at home at 11.30, we would love as much support as we can get down at the club to help us beat et. 19 Feb Glenelg v Goodwood

After a bit of a mix up and a change of grounds the boys got ready for another game against Goodwood.

Game highlights were again great fielding all round with some good outs made.

We batted really well again with homers to Alfie and Lucas.

26 Feb Glenelg v Goodwood

Ben, Ben, Ben, Ollie, Ari and Lucas played another of the Goodwood Indians under 9 teams on Sunday. A bit light on with players this week but not enthusiasm or developing skills to again put on an impressive display of how quickly they are learning the game.

The boys continue to show the things they have learnt from BA at training in the batting box and in the field.

Ollie had a number of huge hits for the day and Lucas did his best to encourage me to see the first problem with coach pitch, line driving one into me that I will feel for a while.  The three Ben's are looking more and more confident in the batting box by setting their feet an swinging hard at strikes all getting some good hits.  Ari did a great job at first and third throughout the day making some impressive plays.

The winner again was baseball.  If you know any 6-8 year olds who would like to get started get them to contact the club as we are keen to keep this group training and playing at the club.
