Tigers

Tigers lost to red blaze 9-3

Loretta started on the mound and did quite well .certainly improving as a pitcher week by week after she tried Alex came in and closed out ,Alex has become very reliable. she has had a very good season.

In the field, very good again we have come a long way in this area and that has happen by the girls really applying themselves, I feel confident all team members know the defensive plays, I guarantee we will be winning more than we lose next season just by knowing how to stop the opposition scoring.

Probably could have scored a few more runs and that would have helped the end result ,there was some good times at bat, certainly missing Ali presents with the bat.

Cheryl had another good game got a good hit and ran the bases very hard, unfortunately in doing so has damaged her ankle sliding to third base, hoping is not too bad ,we will hear more! She  is very tough and wanted to catch the last inning in a lot of pain ,she didn’t want to let team down well done , thanks for your commitment.

We only have one game to go and  could be a little down on numbers I would like to see everybody there and have a laugh and a drink while our sister team plays.

Glenelg

Glenelg lost to Blue Wave 13-5

On another scorching Friday night the cubs headed to West Beach to take on the Blue Wave, the team we managed to knock of the top of the table earlier in the year.

We got off to a good start and jumped out to an early lead thanks to some quality at bats and timely hits by Kelly Qualmann (2RBI) and Jenna Handy (3RBI). Our quality at bats continued and we had runners on for most of the game but we were unable to find any gaps to bring them home.

Unfortunately the Blue Wave did find those gaps and were able to put runs on the board for the rest of the game and take the points.

Even though the result did not go our way I was very pleased with the process and in particular our defense, highlighted by Jane Ryan coming up with some big plays for us at 3B and Kelly Qualmann holding onto 1B despite being pulled across the base path by some throws.
