Glenelg defeated Henley and grange 10-0

Flynn started pitching and threw strikes competently we only gave him 45 pitcher so he could be used in Wednesday u19 final if required, Mouse came in next and did very well he also only threw 45 so he would be fresh for div 6 start next Saturday, Tom closed out all well done

Fielding excellent, we moved a few players  around as to protect Mason and Joe because they had bigger fish to fry on the day and we were in a comfortable game position.

All players picked up hits but Masons 2 strike grand slam was by far the high light one for him to remember well done!

Things will start to heat up for us west Torrens and then Woodville both tough games it will be a good guide to where we sit in the packing order  ,I am looking forward to these challenges and hoping we are up to it,no reason why we can’t win both these games, propelling us into the post season.

Glenelg lost to Southern Districts 5-3

With 3 games left every game is super important as the guys push to try and squeeze their into a playoff spot. With The Hawks inside the top 6 we knew this would be a good test and give us an idea if we are worthy of some post season action. Harry Leaker started on the hill for us, giving up 1 in the first to a strong top order.

Our guys replied in the best way, scoring 2 in the first with a couple of hits to Henry McAuliffe and Adam Wurfel helping our cause. Trailing 3-2 we managed to tie the game up, but with 2 outs in the top of the last South got a couple of hits in a row to get 2 runs across and take a 5-3 lead.

Darcy Gluyas led off the bottom of the last, after a long at bat he lined out to a good catch in centerfield, what could have been if that doesn’t go to a fielder. In the end it was a great contest and the guys can hold their heads high, we just need to focus on taking care of the ball in big situations and running the bases the best way possible.

We know our best can match it with the best teams, so with some hard work and putting into practise what we do at training im confident the results will take care of themselves and with a bit of luck going our way we might just sneak into the 6.

Glenelg defeated West Torrens 11-6

The LL Tigers got the W against an improved Eagles side this week. We scored early in the game leading by 4 runs by the end of the second inning. An Eagle long ball reduced the margin by one as our bats slept in the Third. A couple of walks and a couple of hits and the Eagles scored 5 to take the lead, we then rallied with three and four and closed the game out well. The Tigers played solidly in the field and with a little more focus in the batters box we will get full value from each at bat.

Well done to Josh for giving us a good start, Harv for making some good pitches and hanging in there when the heat came on and Ryan for his best close effort for the year.

The long ball returned this week with Ryan making his maiden trot - nice one! And we reckon Archie is not to far from the same as he peppered the boundary with three doubles. When the pressure went on both Con and Kai (three doubles also) combined to give us good lead off at bats and this was great to see. Noah and Diso also got amongst the spoils.

The Eagles next week again.

Go Tigers!

Glenelg defeated Southern Districts 6-5

Sunday's game was the first of our 2 biggest games, up against a strong sth DIST who are second and only lost was to us, so it was going to be on from the start. For the first time of the season we started with our strongest side on the field, with Georgia starting and only giving up one run for 2 innings, she was supported well in the field with a great catch from Sam.It was Niks time at the mound who gave his all in tough conditions, and sth are a great hitting team, we allowed 3 runs in to be 4 /1 down. We struggle a bit with the bat but had some good hits from Seb, Georgia and Charlie. He then took to the mound and also pitched a great game, only allowing 1 making the score 5/1 down coming into our last dig. I ask the kids to show alot of patience at the plate and only swing at good pitches. And to there credit they did with poor Riley coping a fast ball to his arm the young tigers could smell victory, It was left up too one of our new tigers Ren who was so strong took her time and made sure she swing at no bad pitches and got a walk for our first walk of win this season. Brad and myself were so proud of our young tigers, as how exciting the game was to win the showed the up most respect to the opposition and keep their celebration to a minimal, unlike what they had shown to us last season.yes we were lucky but that's baseball, and it just showed to the team if your not thinking 100% all the time that's how close you become to losing. Special mention to Gus, Cyrus, Zack,Ren and Callum who didn't get much time fielding and could understand the reason why, and they know there turn is coming. Thanks team... We must get back Thursday night a train hard for the next game away to sturt, and a win their will confirm another premiership to this great club.
